Scott Croner - Top 10 Finish On His Return To NEMO

On my return to the Northeast Missouri Triathlon (NEMO) the course was as challeging as I remebered it from over 10 years ago. However as challengeing as it was all of those years of experience paid off with a 11th place finish and a top 3 in my age division.

Scott Croner Wins Age Division at Black Squirrel Triathlon

Scott Croner participated in the Black Squirrel Triathlon with the intentions of not only having a good triathlon but having an exceptional one. Croner an experienced triathlete had noticed the race earlier in the summer and that the distances were very familiar to him a (1000 yard swim, a 19.5 mile bike and a 6.2 mile run) because they are almost the exact same distances as the Topeka Tinman a triathlon that he finished 7th out of over 600 triathletes in the 1993. His training over the last few weeks had been focused on this race and with the opportunity to test ride a new TRI-Bike that was set up perfectly for the course the stage was set and all that was left to do was go racing. The triathlon course was fast, flat and suited to Croner's racing style. The competition was excellent and the triathlon was everything he expected and at the end of race he had not only won his age division by over 6 minutes in doing so he also finished 9th overall in a time of 1:51:30. You can see more results and photos at the Tri-athletes Blog.
